LA PREPARAZIONE DELLE GONNE HAWAIANE

Le gonne hawaiane: le felci hawaiane, chiamate la’i, vengono utilizzate per la preparazione delle gonne e degli ornamenti indossati durante i rituali di danza Hula.
Per la cultura Hawaiiana à molto importante indossare durante i riti celebrativi dei materiali naturali, come foglie, fiori, noci, felci, semi ecc… Questi prodotti della natura sono stati donati dalla Dea Laka, la dea protettrice della Natura. Avvicinandoci alle forze naturali e creando un contatto diretto con esse, abbiamo la possibilità di nutrirci di queste energie. Utilizzare degli elementi naturali permette quindi di diventare parte della natura, conformarci ad essa e trovare guarigione.
Per ogni tipo di rituale si utilizzano foglie specifiche, che hanno tutte un significato ben preciso.
In quest’immagine si vedono delle gonneA che ho realizzato durante uno dei miei soggiorni alle Hawai’i. Per la creazione di questo tipo di gonne si usano delle foglie di “Ti” (“Ti leaves”); queste foglie sono molto ampie, resistenti e facilmente lavorabili. La raccolta delle foglie viene fatta con grande rispetto, cantando per chiedere il permesso e per ringraziare la fonte della creazioni, la Natura. Anche il momento della realizzazione stessa dei vari ornamenti è un momento di grande gioia, condivisione e rispetto. Qui di seguito alcune immagini delle ballerine che preparano le gonne usate successivamente per i rituali celebrativi ovvero “ho’ike”. Nella lingua hawaiiana la singola foglia di ”Ti” viene chiamata La’i, la pianta Kī, e la gonna finita Pā’u.
